Ripple’s XRP is facing increased competition within South Korea’s cryptocurrency market, specifically from Dogecoin (DOGE), which recently edged out XRP in retail trading volume on Upbit, one of South Korea’s top exchanges. This trend calls into question XRP’s potential to reach its predicted $3 price target.
Market Dynamics and Technical Indicators
XRP has become more volatile with its price breaching $2.60, the highest price since March 2025. The cryptocurrency also surpassed Tether to rank third as the largest digital asset based on market value, now reaching $151.29 billion. Experts believe that continuous bullish energy may propel the price of XRP above the current resistance at $2.75, ultimately hitting the price of $3. Yet, a bearish reversal could see the price drop to about $2.25 in the short term. Technical analysis suggests that XRP has triggered a SuperTrend buy signal after breaking above key resistance at $2.36, indicating a possible prolonged rally. An inverse head-and-shoulders formation has also been detected, a typical bullish formation that could drive XRP to the $3.00–$3.10 zone.
Regulatory Developments and Institutional Interest
Investor confidence in XRP has been boosted by the recent resolution of the historic lawsuit between Ripple and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The settlement, involving a $50 million payment, eliminates a key regulatory obstacle that had previously left XRP’s future in doubt.
Brave New Coin
Retail investors in South Korea have been gaining traction in XRP, boosting the trading volume on Upbit to $278 million. Although DOGE is trailing slightly behind at $300 million for the same time.
Besides, XRP whales have stockpiled more than $700 million of the cryptocurrency, showing high-level institutional demand. The accumulation is also in line with the larger altcoin rebound and the recent rise of Bitcoin above $104,000, reflecting an encouraging atmosphere for the expansion of XRP.
