Amazon Web Services is quietly looking into adding Ripple’s XRP to its payment system, which shows that the company is moving from talking about it to thinking about it. A representative from AWS said at a recent panel that “someone on our team is dedicated to seeing where XRP for payments can be of use.” The move shows that they are actively working with merchants and consumer platforms.
XRP in the Cart?
Over the weekend, whispers turned into tangible words, creating a buzz in cryptocurrency. During a recent fintech panel, Amazon Web Services (AWS), the company’s cloud computing division, said that XRP might soon be used to make payments easier on its platform. An AWS representative said, “Someone on our team is actively looking into how XRP can be used in real-time payment solutions.” This is not an official launch.
This seemingly small piece of news means something much bigger: Amazon is no longer just watching the crypto space from the outside. It’s trying out Ripple’s native token, XRP, which is known for being fast, scalable, and cheap for sending money across borders.
The comments came out at the same time as Ripple’s recent growth. The company is trying to get more people to use its products worldwide by launching the Dubai RLUSD stablecoin and making new banking partnerships in the Middle East. Simultaneously, analysts are beginning to believe that the involvement of a large tech company such as Amazon in XRP could have a positive impact on the entire ecosystem.
Twitter, as usual, showed no hesitation. Both influencers and fintech nerds smelled it. “From passive interest to real integration work—this is a big step,” one crypto watcher tweeted, hinting that a quiet tech revolution may be brewing behind Amazon’s Prime curtain.

Ripple’s Edge Could Work in Amazon’s Checkout Game
Why XRP? RippleNet already works with more than 100 major banks around the world, which shows that it can handle quick and cheap international settlements. Ripple’s promise of fast, borderless transactions that can grow would be a good test for Amazon’s global marketplace.
The Ripple team has also hinted that XRP could be useful for more than just payments. Also, AWS is known for testing things out before rolling them out on a large scale. They may be getting ready for what could become a global payment infrastructure overhaul.
Just to be clear, Amazon hasn’t officially said that XRP payments are coming. But crypto optimists can’t ignore the way things are coming together, from AWS’s involvement and merchants trying things out to Ripple’s growing global partnerships.
It doesn’t seem so crazy anymore to think about adding “Pay with XRP” to the Amazon checkout page now that regulatory issues are slowly going away and institutional trust in Ripple is growing.
